Institute for Infants, Children & Families

A Postgraduate Training Program of the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services

One- and Two-Year Certificate Programs
Infant-Parent Study Center

  • Post-degree, in-depth training which inspires creative, transdisciplinary, relationship-centered leadership and practice in programs for babies, toddlers and their families within a wide range of community-based programs.
  • Enables graduates to pass knowledge and training, and improved program design on to others.

An opportunity to enhance your career and upgrade your infant/toddler-family services, these programs are designed for:

  • Program directors, trainers and other senior personnel in infant, toddler-family agencies
  • Experienced professionals to further specialize their clincial work with infants, toddlers and parents

In just one afternoon - evening per week, the Institute offers:

  • State-of-the-art, transdisciplinary faculty/coursework
  • Observationally-based infant assessement and intervention
  • Parent development, outreach, assessment and intervention
  • Emphases on social-emotional and physiological-sensory developmental lines
  • Infant-parent psychotherapy
  • Intervention with PDD-autistic spectrum children and their families
  • Trauma identification and treatment
  • Relationships as a unit of study
  • Leadership, consultative and program design skills
  • Intensive, reflective supervision

The programs are offered by the Institute for Infants, Children & Families, a postgraduate training program of the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services. Two Year Postgraduate Fellowships in Relationships for Growth & Learning (RfGL) with Children Ages 2 1/2 to 7.

  • Advanced, in-depth training for all related disciplines in improving outcomes for at-risk, diagnosable and traumatized children ages 2 through 9 and their families, teachers and schools.
  • RfGL is therapeutic system integrated into preschools targeting children with emotional, social, language, or learning difficulties; improving classrooms; and reaching a wide range of parents.
