The entire JBFCS community mourns the passing of Joseph Kaplan on November 3, 2008. He was a visionary leader of the agency for more than 30 years. Former President and current Co-Chair, Joe inspired us to stay true to our mission: to serve all people in need. He was a man of wisdom and a mentor to many. Joe understood the value of partnership with other human service agencies and the UJA-Federation of New York, of which he too was a supporter and champion.
His enormous contributions were recently acknowledged by naming the The Joseph S. Kaplan Center for Family Life Education at JBFCS. The Center offers workshops, groups and resource materials that allow individuals facing similar issues to learn together, share experiences and find the tools and strategies to cope more effectively.
